David Jeffries - Managing Director

David Jeffries - Managing Director

David joined J+S in 1999 as the Buy-in Finance Director becoming Managing Director in November 2007 following a secondary buyout. Prior to joining J+S David held a number of senior financial management and board positions with, amongst others, OMI International plc and The BOC Group Plc. David is a Chartered Accountant with a BSc in Chemistry.

Eric Abretti - Director of Engineering

Eric has been with the company for over 30 years starting as an engineering apprentice and joining the Board at the MBO/MBI in 1999. Eric is responsible for all engineering activities.

Matt Blair - Director Oil and Gas

Matt Blair - Director Oil and Gas

Matt is based in Aberdeen and has been with the Company since 2006 - joining the Board in November 2007. Prior to joining J+S Matt was the Managing Director of CDL a specialist subsea engineering company in Aberdeen. Matt is responsible for our Oil & Gas activities. Matt holds a BSc in Engineering.

Andy Toms - Director Defence

Andy joined J+S from QinetiQ in November 2007 as the Director of Defence with prime responsibility for Defence sales. Andy has a strong background in Business Development in both the Defence and Oil & Gas markets. Andy has a BSc in Maritime Studies.

Hanley - Director Finance and Company Secretary

Kevin Hanley - Director Finance and Company Secretary

Kevin joined J+S in May 2008 from NaREC (New and Renewables Energy Centre) where he held the position of Financial Controller. Kevin brings a wealth of operational financial and systems expertise to the Company. Kevin is an ACMA with a BSc in Metallurgy.

Richard Barton

Richard Barton - Process Assurance Manager

Richard joined the company in 1990 as a Project Manager, and has been heading the Business Process Team for the past 5 years, being responsible for maintaining the accreditation of J+S Ltd Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental certification. 

Chris Napier

Chris Napier - General Manager Marine Renewables

Chris joined J+S in September 2008 as the General Manager for our newly formed Marine Renewables business. Chris is developing J+S Ltd's presence in this exciting new marketplace focusing on delivering subsea connectivity solutions and position and load monitoring products to the wave and tidal energy segments of the Marine Renewables market place.

Chris has joined the company from Proctor and Gamble where he was most recently a Business Unit Manager. Chris holds an MBA from the Open University.

Henry Warren

Henry Warren - Chairman

Henry joined J+S as a Non-Executive Director in July 2008, becoming the Chairman following Alan Hayman’s retirement in November 2008.

Henry’s early career was with Touche Ross Chartered Accountants, rising to become a partner in their Plymouth office.  In 1987, Henry became the Finance Director of the Devonport Management Group (DML), a role he held until Babcock Marine’s acquisition of the business in 2007.  He was instrumental in setting up the business and in growing it to a £500 million turnover/£35 million profit business, following which Henry retired from DML and is now building up a Non-Executive portfolio.

Henry is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (CA) and holds a LLB Bachelor of Law Degree from Glasgow University.

Doug Sedge

Doug Sedge - Non-Executive Director

Doug joined J+S as a Non-Executive Director in March 2009.  Doug has enjoyed a long career in the Oil and Gas sector, having been in the industry for the last 34 years, with 25 years in management and executive roles.  Doug's background and expertise are in general and operational management.

Doug is CEO of Sparrow Crane, a major Oil and Gas support contractor with operations world wide.  Previously, Doug was CEO for RBG, a Aberdeen-based offshore fabric maintenance contractor with a turnover of £250m.  Doug held this role for 2½ years.  Prior to that, Doug spend 24 years with Weatherford International, latterly from 1999 to 2005 as Regional VP for Europe, West Africa and the former Soviet Union Bloc.
