Subsea Housings

The Marine Renewables business brings challenges in getting power and control information from energy conversion devices to shore.

We provide a robust pressure balanced solution offering a make and break facility for both medium and high voltage and fibre optic connectivity, easily adaptable for a wide range of power and fibre optic core sizes.

We offer a PD free, testable stop end solution allowing full energisation and testing of the terminated cable, which can easily be converted to a splice.

Composite Cable Connectivity Solution

J+S offer a subsea electrical and optical connection solutions for the Marine Renewables industry.  We have designed and manufactured a robust solution running up to 36kV, which includes fibre optic connections.  Device manufacturers can easily connect to the cables, test them prior to use, and constantly monitor the performance of thier device as well as export power directly to the grid through the J+S terminations and the associated facility. 

The subsea housing is scaleable to meet the varying cable sizes and specifications required in the Marine Renewables industry.

Composite Cable Connectivity Solution

Electrical Distribution Box

Our Electrical Distribution Box (EDB) comes in a range of sizes and configurations. It has been fully tested and qualified for use in mission critical applications. The two basic configuration options are:

  • a one atmosphere dry internal housing with oil filled pressure compensation external,
  • and fully oil filled, pressure compensated, with novel internal compensating piston arrangement.

Our EDB can me manufactured in a wide range of materials to suit our customers requirements from graded stainless steel through to composite materials.
