Hydraulics for Subsea Controls
With ongoing investment in training for our team of highly skilled technicians and engineers and the constant development of our services, J+S are committed to supporting our client base with integrated specialised solutions.
Whether you need full design & manufacture or simple component supply, to hire hydraulic equipment or site personnel, or to repair & test equipment, J+S has the facilities, personnel and ability to meet your needs.
Subsea Electro-Hydraulic Bundle Manufacturing
We can supply complete electro-hydraulic umbilical bundles ranging from a few metres in length to hundreds of metres. We will undertake full procurement, manufacture, test, and installation planning for both new and replacement subsea bundles.
Subsea Cable Splicing and Termination
Reliable termination design is critical both for installation and during the lifetime of subsea cables and umbilicals. At J+S we manufacture complete mechanical assemblies with electrical, fibre, and hydraulic connectors, water block, strain terminations, and bend restrictors.
Custom Polyethylene and Polyurethane Moulding
One of our core capabilities developed over the years has been the moulding and bonding of polyurethane (PU) and polyethylene (PE) thermoplastics to metals. We design and manufacture high integrity hull and pressure housing penetrators for transducers and subsea electrical equipment.
Offshore TestingWe provide offshore services including fault diagnostics - Insulation Resistance (IR) and Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR), repair and replacement of sensors, electrical and hydraulic umbilical connections and terminations
We can manage our customer’s dedicated offshore equipment (reeler, umbilical, jumpers) or provide our own equipment. We deliver the equipment to the quayside fully prepared and tested, and we provide trained offshore personnel to conduct the hydraulic, electrical, or fibre optic testing or fault diagnostics
Software and Hardware DesignAt J+S we have a strong capability, as a result of our military pedigree, in electronics hardware and software design for a wide range of applications. In order to meet the demands of performance and reliability our customers require, the tools and solutions that we employ tend to be more sophisticated and tailored. Real-time software is an example where over the years the offshore industry has moved away from bespoke systems to off-the-shelf PC-based solutions. Recent requirements for highly accurate data alignment in survey, and real-time response for remote intervention, have shown the limitations of PC-based solutions, and the trend is back towards tailored solutions for these demanding applications.
