J+S Present at Subsea UK Parliamentary Reception

David Jeffries, Managing Director of J+S was invited to make a brief presentation at the Subsea UK Parliamentary Reception held on the terrace of the House of Commons on 30 June 2010.

This reception is an annual event and forms a major part of Subsea UK's political lobbying on behalf of the Subsea Industry encompassing both Oil & Gas and Marine Renewable activities.

The reception was attended by several Members of Parliament and the House of Lords as well as Ministers involved in both Energy and Scottish affairs.

David, in his speech, addressed the topic of "Developing Skill Sets in Support of Subsea and Industry Across the UK" - a topic of particular relevance to J+S who provide engineering and production support services from the Barnstaple headquarters to the Aberdeen-based Oil and Gas Support Team. Additionally, J+S' Marine Renewables business is based in Barnstaple with the deployment activity scheduled for this year all being undertaken in Scottish waters.
