J+S exhibits at two high profile events in London

J+S Ltd recently exhibited at the BWEA, newly named Renewables UK, conference at the QEII Conference Centre in Westminster, London.

The event, which was attended by over 460 delegates, is held to assemble key members of the industry to discuss the latest developments in technology, grid connection, funding, and other key issues around the growing Wave & Tidal industries

J+S exhibited their electrical subsea Splice Housing soon to be installed at the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) test facility in the Orkneys. The Splice Housing has been designed, tested and qualified to meet the stringent and harsh requirements demanded by the hostile environment of the open ocean. The Marine device enables the power generated off-shore to be transferred directly to shore.

The Splice Housing offers Medium and High Voltage connectivity up to 22kV, and Fibre optic/communications solution all wrapped in a robust frame built to withstand the rigors of the offshore environment.

Commenting on the Conference, Managing Director, David Jeffries said:

‘This is a key event in the Marine Renewables calendar and something J+S are proud to be a part of, and we are especially pleased to be exhibiting our splice housing as an integral part of getting the power ashore and onto the National grid.'

J+S also exhibited at Oceanology International 2010 at the Docklands in London. With over 6600 attendees from 89countries, this exhibition is also an important event for the renewables, Oil and Gas and Defence sectors of the business.

This event saw the showcase of not only the Splice Housing, but also the newly designed Low Profile Array. The Array offers high sensitivity, low noise performance together with light weight modular construction and diameters as small as 15mm. These features offer a cost effective, easily deployable, passive, underwater detection system. The Low Profile Array created quite a buzz amongst the attendees resulting in some very positive enquiries for the product.
