Management Reorganisation at J+S

With effect from 2 August 2010, J+S has undertaken an organisational restructure within the management team.

Eric Abretti, previously Operations Director, has now been appointed as Director of Engineering and will take on all the responsibilities from the previous Engineering Manager, Sue Boyle. In addition, Eric retains responsibility for the manufacturing operations on the Barnstaple site.

Sue Boyle will relinquish her engineering management responsibilities and become an Engineering Consultant, taking up her pre-retirement role.

Party time at J+S

The summer sun was shining on Thursday, 29 July as the J+S staff enjoyed a well-earned hog roast to celebrate their recent success at the PriceWaterhouseCooper sponsored awards in June, where the company was awarded the Business of the Year in the under £25m turnover catagory.

J+S Present at Subsea UK Parliamentary Reception

David Jeffries, Managing Director of J+S was invited to make a brief presentation at the Subsea UK Parliamentary Reception held on the terrace of the House of Commons on 30 June 2010.

This reception is an annual event and forms a major part of Subsea UK's political lobbying on behalf of the Subsea Industry encompassing both Oil & Gas and Marine Renewable activities.

The reception was attended by several Members of Parliament and the House of Lords as well as Ministers involved in both Energy and Scottish affairs.

J+S Successful at the West of England Business of the Year Awards

On Thursday, 24 June 2010, J+S was announced as winners in the "Under £25m turnover" section of the West of England Business of the Year Awards.

These awards are sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP supported by the Western Daily Press, ITV West and Beacon South West and are one of the most prestigious business awards for companies in the West of England.
