Data Networks
Modern warfare demands a very reliable and robust network around which sensor, weapon, communications and spatial information can be rapidly distributed and exploited by the command team.
Our expertise in open network architecture, high performance real-time software and complex hardware interfaces has been crucial in developing and supporting the Combat System Highway (CSH), a robust and resilient LAN, for the UK Royal Navy surface fleet for the last 25 years.
Due to platform life extension, support of the CSH is required for decades to come and our innovative ideas and development expertise is delivering benefits such as:
- Open IP bridging between CSH and other data networks
- Running IP protocols over CSH infrastructure concurrently with CSH messages
- Graphical health monitoring and diagnostics
- Remote touchscreen displays
- Open high level Application Programmers Interfacing
- Remote touchscreen displays
- Flexible simulation and scenario modeling tools
Our expertise also covers the design, development and ongoing support of Combat System equipment, such as the Magazine Torpedo Launch System and intelligent interfaces for the Command Support System. We provide the capability of both designing combat system equipment to meet rigorous Royal Navy environmental specifications as well as integrating the equipment into the Combat System.
Simulation and Stimulation
The system integration, acceptance and operator training associated with combat systems are of necessity extremely expensive activities. At J+S we provide a range of cost effective robust configurable simulators and stimulators. Complete with friendly graphical interfaces, configurable modelling parameters and flexible scenarios these products meet stringent real-time performance criteria and satisfy operator and performance requirements.
